5 DAYS/ 4 NIGHTS GAMBOA & ZAMCAMBU

DEPARTURE 8:00 AM

Day 1

We depart from the agency at 8:30 a.m and we navigate the Amazon River for two hours by wooden boat. The first place to stop by is Gamboa (an indigenous community on the Peruvian side). There are bedrooms and hammocks so that we rest. After having lunch in the afternoon you will see birds of every kind such as eagles, toucans, Parrots, Hornet screamers, Herons, King Fishers, Macaws and so forth. At Night after having dinner there is a nocturnal safari (we will see spiders, scorpions and nocturnal animals). After all, the activities have finished, we will go to sleep in hammocks with mosquito nets.

Day 2

The first thing in the morning is breakfast and afterwards, we travel through Gamboa’s channel in order to get to the Zacambu river. On our way to the river, we will see different species of monkeys, trees, blue bottleflies, flora and fauna. At Zacambu you will have accommodation. In the afternoon you will see Pink and Gray Dolphins and you will be able to swim alongside them. At Night you will have dinner and nocturnal canoeing. (you will see some species of predators like Snakes, frogs, insects, and nocturnal birds).

Allegators spotting: After dinner when it gets dark, the guide will be able to catch some caimans with the hands to show you and put them back in the water. After all the activities have finished, we will go to sleep in hammocks with mosquito nets.

Day 3

After having breakfast in Zacambu we trek in the primary jungle for 3 to 4 hours in order to see huge trees such as ceibas, rubber frees, walking trees, killer trees, many types of palms monkeys, snakes, and blue butterflies (morpho). We have lunch and then in the afternoon, we organize the area in which we will do camping(sleep in the jungle in hammocks and mosquito nets). We collect dry wood in order to make a small bonfire and prepare food using it, relating stories one to another.

Day 4

The first thing in the morning is breakfast and afterwards, we will go to do piranha fishing and have for lunch what we have fished for. Afterwards, During the afternoon we will canoe in the lake so that we can see the famous lilies water, some monkeys, birds and so forth. At night we will take a boat to the lake so we can hear the different sounds of the jungle.

Day 5

After having breakfast in Zacambu, we trek in the jungle for 2 hours in order to see flora and fauna then we commute to the secondary jungle and we have lunch, afterwards, we will get back to Leticia arriving either at 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm.

NOTE: The tour that Expeditions George of the Jungle manages is quite flexible, managing it with a maximum of 10 people in order to not impact the environment and that our visitors have a much more personalized service.The activities and time for each one will depend not only on the group and guide but also on the season of the year: in dry seasons longer walks are done and in rainy seasons most of the activities are done by boat.
